Copyright problem[edit]

The synopsis added on July 15, 2012 appears to be a cut-and-paste from [[1]]. I have reported this to [2] and I also notified the editor (IP 98.248.10.236). I did not take unilateral action to delete the synopsis because:1) there appears to be a minor amount of "close paraphrasing", and 2) I wanted another editor to verify that I am correct. The IP who did this has been blocked briefly for edit-warring elsewhere. I have tried to fix the problem. See if you agree that I have succeeded. -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:40, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Looks ok to me (no copyvio now), I see no need for me to edit the synopsis at this point. I thought it necessary to let the IP know about the Wikipedia policy re copy violations, which I have done.Flami72 (talk) 17:58, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Looks good to me from a copyvio standpoint. Personally I think the synopsis may be overly long for an encyclopaedia article but that's not a copyvio concern. Relevant revisions have been revdeled. Dpmuk (talk) 15:35, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
OK, thanks, Ssilvers and Dpmuk, I will now try to tighten the synopsis (although I generally do not like to work on plots when I have not seen the show.)Flami72 (talk) 17:32, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I should also point out that I've come at this from a copyright prospective so the length may be more normal for articles on musicals. I was comparing the length to what I'd expect to see for a film or book but hadn't really taken into account that adding the song titles would automatically make the synopsis longer. The Musicals project guidelines specify "A two-act musical's synopsis should be between 800 and 1100 words, with leeway for an unusually complicated plot." This synopsis is 794 words. I'm satisfied with it now. (I work a lot with musical theatre articles, and run into this plot length situation a lot--everyone has their favorite plot point that has to be included!)Flami72 (talk) 17:50, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Nice work! -- Ssilvers (talk) 18:01, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
