Cecil Roth's work long overtaken by better information[edit]

It should be obvious that, whatever respect we hold for Cecil Roth's scholarship, some of his work has been completely overtaken by later research. 86.159.70.117 (talk) 22:32, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why the Sir?[edit]

I can't find any reference to Cecil Roth being either a knight or a baronet. Most sources - including this New York Times obit (https://www.nytimes.com/1970/06/22/archives/dr-cecil-roth-71-historian-is-dead-briton-was-editor-in-chief-of.html) refer to him as Dr. Roth.
