Regarding Present Condition[edit]

The section "Present Condition" is in a terrible state of disrepair. For the time being I've simply removed it. It used to read... "In present day context, the caste system falls under Hindu varna system i.e., Brahmin, Kshatri, Vysya and Shudra respectively instead of following Muluki Ain's codification. Also many Tibeto Burman ethnic groups do not follow the caste system because they have their own culture, tradition, religion and values which do not fall under the caste system. (Absolutely false! Whoever wrote this has not done any actual studies, but just presented his/her own biased views. Please read internationally recognized research materials before putting polemic information about 'Nepalese caste system' in Wikipedia.)" The parenthetical statement is not very useful and is in pretty bad wiki-form, but it was so vehement that a simple "citation needed" seemed a little weak. The "copy edit" tag has been removed from this article for now, because the other tags, the unresolved proposal to merge with Ethnicity and caste in Nepal and the existence of an empty section imply that significant changes are needed to the article's content. It is not worth while to copy edit content that is likely to change. Major rewording and rearrangement needed![edit]

Requesting contributions from every knowledgeable wikipedians for this article. The article is long enough however, there is a lot of wrong words, phrases, sentences in use. Please help. Do not forget to put your citations as any claim without proper reference will not be considered a wikipedia information and will simply violate WP:POV. Simplistic[edit]

Apart from the need to improve the copy, the article requires major rewriting. It is very simplistic as if the surnames mentioned in the article represent the entire Nepalese population. They only represent the Khas people. Documentation[edit]

There is a documentary film on this topic. Before I heard about it I'd always been made believe there were untouchables only in India where they seemed to dwell in huge slums, destilling illegal alcocol and whatnot. Obviously there are untouchables in India's neighbour countries too and some of them don't enjoy the solace of being members of a big community. Some untouchables are in addition to their other inherited issues even loners: Life of a lonely Untouchable in Nepal If a film like that is ignored, how can you expect other people to invest more time into this topic? grave error regarding, kurmi kshatriya being wrongly placed under "sudra[edit]

Grave error regarding "KURMI KHASTRIYA" caste from Nepal, being wrongly placed under "SHUDRA Hello Mr. Matthew Vanitas , i would like to point out a grave error regarding description of "KURMI KHASTRIYA" caste migrated from India, being wrongly placed under "SHUDRA" on the relevant Wikipedia page , which is putting up a question mark on the authenticity and correctness of data available on Wikipedia.

It is well known fact that Kurmis are Kshatriya, if Kurmis are not khsatriyas & they ae Shudras, then why isnt Kurmi as a caste is placed under the group Sheduled Caste(under which all Shudras are placed)by the Govt. of Nepal with accompanying reservation facility to them.

Hence kindly review the matter at your end and purge this grave error at the earliest, so that a good site like Wikipedia doesnt loose its authenticity in the eyes of billions of KURMI KHASTRIYAS, whose sensibilities are being hurt by this grave error And all kurmi of nepal are origin of India.
