The flower of a Karkalla (Carpobrotus rossii), a succulent coastal groundcover plant native to southern Australia. Australian Aborigines traditionally eat the globular purplish-red fruit, fresh and dried. The salty leaves are also reported to be eaten with meat.Photo: Noodle snacks
Common Names[edit]
This plant is known as Pig Face in Western Australia, but I wont add this to the page until it is no longer "Today's featured picture". Don't want us editors looking disorganised do we? :) SpencerCollins (talk) 01:34, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
