Fallen Flag[edit]

Logo?[edit]

On the older Carpenter buses, there was a strange logo consisting of what looks like a pile of rocks sitting in a large capital C. Does anyone know for sure what this was supposed to be? —Preceding unsigned comment added by MotherFerginPrincess (talk • contribs) 19:26, 20 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't recall ever seeing a logo like that. How old was the bus? The only Carpenter logos I am familiar with are the ones from the 1970s to the early 2000s, and none of those match the description you gave. —BMRR (talk) 00:46, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If the logo wasn't in good condition, it may have looked like that, but Carpenter used the "knight inside the C" logo up until about 1989. From 1989 to 1992, Carpenter actually used 2 logos on their buses (the word Carpenter, and an rarely-seen optional one with a lance over the word "Carpenter"). From 1992-1995, only the word Carpenter was used. During the Crown by Carpenter era, the wording was changed to Crown (the logo itself was inherited from Crown Coach, who had only recently introduced it when they went out of business). The logo on the Carpenter 2000 buses was a takeoff on the Spartan Motors logo (a black diamond with a red "C" instead of a red "S" in the middle). SteveCof00 (talk) 09:11, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It might take some digging, but something might pop up that might be reference-worthy. School bus manufacturers didn't have any web presence until about 1996 or 1997 (AmTran never had a website until it changed its name in 2002). Even now, they don't go into detail about options like what manufacturer logo to use on the bus. If there's no luck adding 1000 words to the article, maybe there's a picture of it somewhere in obscurity in the Commons :-) SteveCof00 (talk) 10:18, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
