Mixture of Gregorian and Julian calendar[edit]

In the beginning of the article the events depicted are dated "around the new year 1718–1719" which sounds like the Julian calendar is used because if so they departed on December 28 and the survivors arrived on January 4 and 5.

Later in the article, Gregorian dates are used, so all the events (except those in the "Background" section) take place well into January.

Should we perhaps be consistent within the article? Are there guidelines for the use of calendar in articles about historic events? - Tournesol (talk) 08:59, 11 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
