Undocumented statements; replacing statement about reason for quitting 2002 race.[edit]

This article is full of statements with no adjoining reference citation.

In at least one significant case, the statement contradicts numerous opposing articles published widely in Kansas state media, citing Stovall's own statements. This faulty statement says:

Despite an early lead in the polls, Stovall withdrew from the race in order to get married and spend more time with her husband's family."

This is directly at odds with Stovall's own statements, published repeatedly, that her reason for quitting was her disinterest in the campaign and the job, and not because of her romance and pending marriage, which she said had no bearing on her decision.

I will change that error, immediately, per WP:RS (particularly as concerns articles about living persons). I will copy my text from the Wikipedia article "2002 Kansas gubernatorial election" which I have just inserted in that article's subsection 2.2 "Withdrawn", which covers this chapter in Stovall's career. ~ Zxtxtxz (talk) 11:01, 30 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
