Cause of death?[edit]

I seem to remember he died in a car crash, but can find nothing on the www to support that. Rothorpe 00:02, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

All Music Guide to Jazz (1994) says only that his "great career was cut short by drug problems." The 2006 liner notes for Complete Studio Recordings (Curtis Counce Quintet) indicate that he died of a drug overdose, but also give the date of death in May, not March, 1958. I've updated the article. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 06:03, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Anonymous contribution[edit]

The dates of birth and death just supplied anonymously may be a hoax, or they may be by someone connected to the pianist. As they are unsourced, they will normally be deleted. Would the supplier care to say how they might be verified? Rothorpe (talk) 02:48, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Allmusic gives the same dates ([1]). -- Gyrofrog (talk) 17:07, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Aha, thanks. Rothorpe (talk) 17:28, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Groove Yard, not Grooveline[edit]

The article incorrectly states that Mr. Perkins composed the jazz standard Grooveline. Rather, the title of the tune he wrote was Groove Yard, which was (as an example) the title cut of the Montgomery Brothers' 1961 recording. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.108.58.115 (talk) 18:26, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
