999: Much of that was not for the intro/lead, but for his bio. I'm beginning to work on the bio, and citing the sources. Zos 18:06, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't matter. When a GFDL source is used to start the article, the GFDL requires that a link to the source article be provided as the edit history cannot be transfered between wikis. If you remove the source reference, you violate the GFDL and the original site can demand that the article be deleted and started completely over. -999 (Talk) 18:08, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Check the history, it was a mistake I was correcting. For one, the first part of the reference leads us to Thelemapedias main page, I moved it to external links. the second part was where the material comes from, and I left that in references. Zos 18:10, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's all a single reference. The main work, followed by the sub-article. Like any encyclopedia article, you have to mention the name of the encyclopedia first, then the article name. -999 (Talk) 18:14, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Same guy as Carl Kellner of the Castner-Kellner process?[edit]

I'm a bit confused as to whether this guy is the same person as the chemist involved in the Castner-Kellner process. Here on en there is only one article, and the Kellner in the Castner-Kellner process article is redlinked. On the German wikipedia, there is another redlink at the de:Karl_Kellner disambig page, but it suggests they were two distinct people. However, they have the same dates:

Carl Kellner (Chemiker) (1851-1905), deutscher Chemiker und Industrieller; Freimaurer
Karl Kellner (Okkultist), (1851-1905)

It seems like it would be a heck of a coincidence for the mystic to be a chemist, and have the same name, birth and death dates, and country of origin as the chemist.

A bit more digging, it would seem that he is indeed the same guy: http://user.cyberlink.ch/~koenig/dplanet/html/50_51.htm
Souveraener Ehren-General-Grossmeister fuer Deutschland und Souveraener
Grosskommandaeur, A.u.A. 33° fuer Deutschland, Grossbritannien und
Irland: Br.\Carl Kellner von der Kellner-Partington Co. Ld - der
Castner-Kellner Alkali Co. Ld - Manchester, Barrow i/f. Runcorn,
Borregaard (Norwegen), St. John (Canada); Hallein bei Salzburg -
Mitglied des k.k. Industrie-Rates in Wien etc.

But the document doesn't have much in the way of documentation... --babbage (talk) 21:52, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Founder of O.T.O.[edit]

The only source for the claim that Kellner founded the O.T.O. is Theodor Reuss, writing after Kellner's death. Considering Kellner's favorable reputation within the occult circles of the time and Reuss' penchant for self-aggrandizing publicity, Reuss' claims cannot be taken as proof that Kellner was indeed the founder of O.T.O.; see Ellic Howe's biographical paper on Reuss for details. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.114.238.203 (talk) 21:06, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
