It's a good road[edit]

Carl Hiaasen's character Skink surely deserved a mention.

The Last Chance, a real bar mentioned by Hiassen, is at the Card Sound Road / US 1 bifurcation and should be included.

The Turkey Point nuclear power plant on the road deserves a mention (wonderful grouper fishing off their dock}.

There were also some USN facilities, and a gravel pit which deserve mention.

The thunderstorms left behind by Hurrincane Kate in 1985 left both sides of the road on fire. Driving through a tunnel of fire was invigotating. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.718281828plus (talk • contribs) 13:02, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
