Pronunciation[edit]

It is indicated in IPA that the city is pronounced kɐ̃puʒ duʒ ɡojtaˈkaziʃ. The "ʒ" marks that it should be something like "Campoosh doosh Goy...". In regional Rio de Janeiro Brazilian this may be generally kind of correct. In formal Brazilian ending-"s" are not pronounced "sh" or "zh" (ʒ) like in Portugal, but rather like quite normal "s". Some particularly smart guys probably may want to tell something that there is no formally correct Brazilian: yes, there is something like a standard Brazilian. Demographics[edit]

There is no reference to the chart. Also, there never was any crash related to the oil industry in the city because the oil was discovered in 1974 and the production (totally off-shore) began only in 1977 at the sea area named Campo de Enchova. Thus, it's impossible to any oil related crisis being the reason for the shrinking of the population.

A logical reason would be the emancipation of several districts that became independent municipalities like São João da Barra, São Francisco do Itabapoana, Italva and Cardoso Moreira. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 186.192.62.49 (talk) 18:08, 7 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
