Burned church[edit]

"The building was erected on the site of the 16th century church, which burned in 1936." Given the date, I would assume that it was one of the churches torched by radicals at the start of the Spanish Civil War, but the article says nothing. Featured elsewhere?[edit]

Confiscation[edit]

The original article says, "Tal situación favoreció el nacimiento de una burguesía local que, beneficiada por los efectos de la desamortización...". desamortización refers to confiscation of property, but whose? Rich landowners? The Church? Rodney Boyd 04:04, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good night. Please, sorry my bad control of your beautiful language. Please, if you can, write again that information. I have the answer to your question. It is the Juan Alvárez Mendizábal Confiscation, (in spanish: "Desamortización de Mendizábal"). It was a economical confiscation against the Church. It was on Spain between 1820-1823, and the politician that ordered it was Mendizábal. In the spanish article of Campo de Criptana, that information don't appear, because in Spain, the Confiscation is a very famous History episode, and everybody knows it. It's our mistake, we may to say it, (it is no famous in all around the world, only in Spain). In the Wikipedia on castilian, you have an article of Desamortización if you are interested in. Please, if you can, with this information, write the information. I can't do it, my control of English is so bad!! Pointless article[edit]

I found the article completely pointless. No demographics, no climate, no economic data. Little history, probably scavenged from internet. But churches aplenty. Really... I was there last year, and I can come up with more relevant/interesting subjects to write than what is here. And I have next to nothing knowledge about the place.
