Notability question[edit]

This article looks ok to me, although have some issues with sources, but other then that it covers a separate breed that makes it notable... The template shows its notability was questioned since 2020, but the article has been edited since. Should the template be removed or are there other things to be done here? @William Harris (talk · contribs) ? @ Cavalryman (talk · contribs) ? --LoraxJr 22:09, 23 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

LoraxJr, the issues with sources are the reason for the template's listing at the top of the page. Until multiple, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject are cited the template should remain. This article has be identified as requiring action at WT:DOGS#List of 100 dog "breeds" in need of review/reclassification/deletion and a rewrite is planned when/if such sources are identified. Kind regards, Cavalryman (talk) 22:20, 23 March 2021 (UTC).[reply]
This list is exactly where I found it. I am just slowly working through it to find something useful I could do to help the project. I will look into sources, but from quick googling nothing much appeared. --LoraxJr 22:27, 23 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
There are some articles that we cannot do much for because the dog is not "notable" in English texts. All that we can do is remove some of the uncited or irrelevant text and move on. William Harris (talk) 10:02, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
In this situations do we keep the article though? Just make it cleaner? --LoraxJr 19:17, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
There are two arguments. If it does not have sufficient WP:RELIABLE sources which provide "in-depth coverage", then the article fails WP:NOTABLE and therefore should be deleted. Alternately, it has a breed standard and any deletion may lead to our South American friends simply recreating the article at some time in the future. As it stands, I would be inclined to keep the article with the notability template in place so that it can be further developed should sourcing come to hand. Others may have a different opinion. Interesting issue. Maybe an editor with Portuguese or Spanish language could find some reliable sources. As the search in English does not bring much reliable websites. LoraxJr 19:22, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Name section[edit]

Neither the Cambridge and Collins Portuguese dictionaries list the word “Campeiro” [1][2], so I am removing the name section. Cavalryman (talk) 00:44, 25 March 2021 (UTC).[reply]

Bibliography section[edit]

The below bibliography was included on the page, as none of those listed were cited and I cannot verify their existence I am moving them here. If someone can find some links, hopefully they ca be used to expand the page. Cavalryman (talk) 00:49, 25 March 2021 (UTC).[reply]

As per WP:NONENGEL external links, these could be deleted if you so decide. William Harris (talk) 07:39, 25 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
