Neutrality[edit]

This needs to be rewritten to take out the promo talk and give it a neutral stance. Tyrenius 18:01, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have cut quite a bit of the bumpf from the page and added some past presidents. It should read less like a flyer now. FormerCULS, 22 March 2012 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 160.39.221.114 (talk) 18:36, 22 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite[edit]

This article will likely survive its Afd nomination. However, many participants in the Afd discussion also noted that this article should be rewritten to be better reflect the nature of Wikipedia as an encyclopedia, rather than an advert for an university society. Oxbridge law societies are historically important parts of the English legal profession - this article should focus on this as well as the society's current significance rather than on student leisure activities Bwithh 02:55, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

List of past presidents[edit]

I've rewritten it, categorised it, and added one solitary link. I thought pretty seriously about axing the list of past presidents per WP:Weight, but decided I'd lopped out enough of the self-promotional puffing for the moment... Nmg20 (talk) 00:45, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I would get rid of the list and consider cutting it even more. I think people are getting hung up a bit on the Oxbridge thing and the society being 'important'. As an ex-president of CULS, I can tell you it's a fairly new grouping (from the late 70s I think) and has little historical value. It's very large and well funded, but is not historically important or interesting (like the Cambridge Union Society for example). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.111.24.181 (talk) 12:20, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've tried to remove the list several times today, and have received edit warring from multiple IPs as a result. Conflict of interest, perhaps? I've asked for administrative assistance and page protection. Perhaps more astonishing, given that there are clearly accounts with a vested interest in maintaining the article, is that 6 1/2 years after surviving an AfD process [1], there still isn't a single non-primary source, nor one inline citation. I suppose people care only enough to see their or friends' names mentioned. 99.153.143.227 (talk) 00:38, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion[edit]

User:Anthony Appleyard This page should be deleted because there's a draft with the same name as this page that needs to be moved (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Cambridge_University_Law_Society) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Charbelfakhoury (talkcontribs)

I'm not clear what the end result is supposed to be. The Cambridge University Students' Union is presumably different from the Cambridge University Law Society, so only a redirect needs to be deleted? power~enwiki (π, ν) 19:40, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah i meant the redirect only, sorry for not making my point clear User:power~enwiki. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Charbelfakhoury (talkcontribs) 19:44, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I pinged Vermont on IRC and he fixed this. Thanks, Vermont! power~enwiki (π, ν) 19:56, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
