Yes. We make a similar claim in the Berlin article, and the influence is clear on JvE's fountain Madonna, which is where David indirectly becomes relevant here. I havnt figured out yet how Jan became aware. I think its explained in Harbison's book but I dont have that one. I'm not sure how to couch here, suggestions? A close "Workshop of J van E" copy of the Fountain Madonna is the next pic (#353) in Evans, where Ainsworth has plenty on its Byzantine fore-runners, but not relating it to the Cambrai M. It is a different type, with the "playful child". I'll have a go. Johnbod (talk) 16:05, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
