- From the opening sentence: "traditional Anglo-American based curriculum", I'm not sure CSUMB is quite different from other universities in this aspect. Most Universities have multi cultural learning now, this isn't some new path that CSUMB is blazing.

Fair use rationale for Image:CSU.PNG

Image:CSU.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:57, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Removal of COI tag

Hello - how can the message "A major contributor to this article appears to have a close connection with its subject. It may require cleanup to comply with Wikipedia's content policies, particularly neutral point of view" be removed from the top of the CSUMB wiki page? What steps need to be done? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Scottwithcsumbnews (talkcontribs) 20:23, 21 December 2015 (UTC)

@Scottwithcsumbnews: I'm the one who added it, but I don't feel comfortable enough to remove it quite yet. Looking at the page history, users removed quite a bit of "marketing-like" content. Something like this edit & this edit are strongly discouraged. Articles should not be read like an advertisement for the university, but as "reliable, nonpartisan information". You will have to prove that you are able to stay neutral and when that is proven, I'll remove the tag. In the meantime, I'd suggest either talking about what you want to add here before adding the content or add it and ask here so you can work on being neutral. I'll ping Theroadislong as well since they are one of the editors who removed a lot of the content. Maybe they'll have advice as well.
Also, please remember to sign your posts. Thanks. 🎄 Corkythehornetfan 🎄 22:20, 21 December 2015 (UTC)
Seconding what Corky said. Frankly, this comment and the account's previous editing history are concerning in regard to whether the user will be able to neutrally contribute toward WP's encyclopedic purpose. Scott, I highly recommend you thoroughly read Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not#Wikipedia is not a soapbox or means of promotion (see point 5, particularly), and Wikipedia:Single-purpose account before editing further. --Regards, James(talk/contribs) 06:51, 22 December 2015 (UTC)

Thank you Corky. I appreciate the removal of the tag. @James: I am new to Wiki and this has been a good learning experience. Thank you. I will read the neutral point of view and submit everything to an independent editor from now on. I have no problem with the removed content. I don't plan on adding anything else soon.Scottwithcsumbnews (talk) 17:05, 22 December 2015 (UTC)

Clarification to Corky: I am not adding anything else to the page. I understand the two edits you mentioned and why they were removed. Again, I am new to this. I will have an independent editor review from now on if there are additional edits. Scottwithcsumbnews (talk) 17:08, 22 December 2015 (UTC)

At Corky: can I use you as an independent editor from this point forward? Scottwithcsumbnews (talk) 17:25, 4 January 2016 (UTC)

At Corky: we are striving to keep this page completely neutral - we are in complete agreement. Per a conversation with my supervisor, George Machun, the director of communications at CSUMB, we are doing another sweep to eliminate language that resembles the two edits you mentioned.Scottwithcsumbnews (talk) 19:27, 4 January 2016 (UTC)

@Scottwithcsumbnews: that's fine ❄ Corkythehornetfan ❄ 20:53, 4 January 2016 (UTC)

@Scottwithcsumbnews: Please make sure you provide an edit summary – that way you don't get reverted by others for "unexplained removal". ❄ Corkythehornetfan ❄ 22:04, 4 January 2016 (UTC)

At Corkythehornetfan: thanks, did the summary.Scottwithcsumbnews (talk) 16:22, 5 January 2016 (UTC)

At Corkythehornetfan: has enough been done to remove the tag?198.189.249.62 (talk) 17:05, 8 January 2016 (UTC)

I've removed it for now. ❄ Corkythehornetfan ❄ 17:14, 8 January 2016 (UTC)

At Corkythehornetfan: thanks, I saw that the tag was removed but it was put back up? Scottwithcsumbnews (talk) 18:38, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

If you would like to know the reasons for edits to an article, you may view an article's history, where editors often use edit summaries to explain their edits. For example. --Regards, James(talk/contribs) 20:35, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

At James: so you reverted the Corky's edit because the language is too promotional? Am I reading this right? The new language has been removed. I'm confused. What's left has always been there with updated (correct) numbers. Would you like to give specific examples? Thanks.Scottwithcsumbnews (talk) 00:37, 13 January 2016 (UTC)
