Redirecting rather than disambiguation?[edit]

Should CRTC really be pointed at Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission? Several of the others listed on the disambiguation page are very commonly used. "Cathode Ray Tube Controller" comes to mind to someone who has a strong technical background. 207.172.210.101 (talk) 05:19, 17 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Of all the entries listed at CRTC (disambiguation), the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission is the only one well-known to a large swath of people and is recognized nationally (and to some extent internationally). "Cathode Ray Tube Controller" redirects to Video Display Controller, and is hardly known outside its niche group. The current target for CRTC if the correct choice. See also WP:PRIMARYTOPIC.
