Railway station(s)[edit]

Two articles - Buxton Lammas railway station (on the old Great Eastern Railway) and Buxton (Norfolk) railway station (on the Bure Valley Railway). Should one or other be linked here? ClickRick (talk) 13:45, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well spotted. I think both need to be linked. However, the article needs rewriting to indicate that the station is now called Buxton and is on the Bure Valley Railway and that the station on the Great Eastern Railway was called Buxton Lammas until it closed. At the same time, the article on the Bure Valley Railway needs editing to reflect that the station is called Buxton and not Buxton Lammas. You want to do it or should I? I'm happy to leave it to someone with more specific local knowledge than I have. Nicely done on the Buxton with Lammas redirection swap, btw. ClickRick (talk) 16:17, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Now done. If you get a chance please check to see if I've missed anything. By the way, I've no local knowledge at all - just did a bit of research. I actually stumbled here from checking out an edit on List of civil parishes in Norfolk. Skinsmoke (talk) 17:24, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Buxton with LamasBuxton with Lammas – This is the name of the civil parish, however the council is "Buxton with Lamas Parish Council" but this is about the civil parish, not its council specifically. Note that Lamas is the correct name of the village that the name comes from though. Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:56, 27 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. I'd tend to go with the people who live there. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:57, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
