Summary section[edit]

I would love to see a summary section here but I don't understand the topic well enough to write one. Tealpanda 20:43, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Transvaal/Gauteng[edit]

One can not simply substitute Gauteng for Transvaal. Even though the Bushveld Igneous Complex is located in central Transvaal it does not mean it is located in central Gauteng or even Gauteng only. The complex extends from Gauteng into Limpopo, North West and Mpumalanga provinces. I have reverted the edit that substituted Gauteng for Transvaal. If the intent was simply to replace the old province name, then that sentence will require a rewrite in order to stay factually accurate --NJR_ZA (talk) 13:27, 18 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mine Operations[edit]

Should there be a list of mines (currently or used to be) in operation in this region? For example, Merensky reef, Modikwa mine, etc. -- Joedf (talk) 14:46, 1 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

InfoMine published a list which can be looked at: http://www.infomine.com/library/publications/docs/mining.com/sep2008e.pdf

Up to date information[edit]

The main source of this article is dated. It relies primarily on a publication from 1904. Since then, there has been probably more than a hundred new peer-reviewed scientific articles. The information is available. Also, the dead links could be fixed or provided with relevant alternatives. -- Joedf (talk) 05:39, 14 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It also uses Apartheid place names that have not been in use for almost 30 years. This needs to be updated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.165.210.145 (talk) 15:21, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Industry section[edit]

The mining and economy section were meant to be subsections of Industry. same for geology, subsections are Origin and formation, Structures, Units - Joedf (talk) 00:40, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
