Move[edit]

I moved this page back to buława. IMHO there is no need to invent new names if we already have two perfectly-valid names. Feel free to move it to bulava if you please, but the version without diacritics is neither English, Russian Ukrainian nor Polish. Halibu tt 16:04, 13 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Atually, "bulawa" is just a plain mace first and foremost[edit]

it's a Russian/Slavic word for the mace weapon. It did become ceremonial with hetman and so forth (much like there are ceremonial maces in the West) but the basic and most recognizable meaning is that of a mace, a club. Bulava (missile) is named like that for the same reason, to provide connotations of a powerful weapon/blow. 76.24.104.52 (talk) 15:49, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What is its name![edit]

Can someone please decide what the name of this object is. I notice its been moved back and forth between Buława and Bulawa, and the text currently uses Buława, Bulawa and Bulava interchangeably. As the thing seems just to be a foreign word for mace, shouldn't we just get the article deleted, moving anything worth keeping to Mace (club)?
