Expansion[edit]

I plan to add more information to the entry progressively. However this will only be possible when I have spare time from my "duties" at Wikinews (admin) and my job which I got from writing news stories on Wikinews (there is a purpose after all). Nzgabriel 02:50, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Budget Truck really sucks![edit]

I rented a 26ft. truck and there best car hauler costing almost $2000 a few days ago in Florida. After 27 years moving back to Arizona and my family, how exciting right? Well I went to Atlanta first to visit my daughter in college before heading west. I left there yesterday morning and by noon had been on the phone a few times letting Budget know the truck was losing all it's power and doesn't want to stay on the road, the steering had become very loose and unsafe. After waiting awhile finally about 2pm a service guy showed up, this was in Forest, Ms.. He quickly informs me that most of the transmission fluid has leaked out and the passenger side tie rod had loosened, which means it's broken or breaking. So as I look to the right at a Holiday Inn Express and to the left a Walmart they tell me to wait for the man to go get a case of transmission fluid, seriously a case, he would put it in and I was to drive on to Jackson, Ms. where the parts to fix it are located. I was told it would be fixed first thing in the morning. When arriving I found that the Hilton, Marriott, and a few other decent places to stay did not have parking for my 55 foot rig. The freeze storm Pax was at it's worst for this area at this time, so ended at an econolodge for the parking. What a nightmare it was to get from Forest to Jackson while Holiday Inn Express with parking lingered in my head, what do I do work for them driving there broke trucks? So they pick up the truck to take it somewhere to be fixed, I am disturbed by the fact that everything I own is in there. They did however drop the car hauler with my Mini Cooper on it, leaving it without any protection from someone backing up to it and driving off. At 11am it's checkout time so I call and still waiting on parts and clueless of a time, so I pay for the room again. Then after several calls being sent back and forth from customer service to roadside assistance all day I get a call from the third party fleet management telling me the parts are still not in and it will be tomorrow before the truck is fixed. This poor lady knew nothing of the situation, and politely endured my obvious frustration. Why Budget and the repair place could not call is beyond me. This pure neglect and unprofessional manner is responsible for me not making it to my appointment to sign the papers for my new home, two afternoon appointments regarding the relocation of my business, and missing the Gold Rush Days parade which half my family is in. These things have been planned for months and I will not be there. Thought about flying out there, but can't leave all my belongings here, wherever they may be. The worst of this is not one person out of so many has said anything solid or made me feel anything but how very wrong and how very unsettling this is. I hope everyone reads this who might be considering renting a truck from them, because every single word is true. Oh and to boot I barely got confirmation on my hotel expense being reimbursed, they have nothing, I mean nothing, not one word about any compensation for my situation, except you have to wait till you turn the truck in before any decisions are made. Really??

Budget Truck Rental Warning![edit]

I just rented a Budget Truck since AARP gives a discount. They took $150.00 deposit (which they disclose), however they do not disclose that they kidnap your money from 5 to 7 workdays, and on top of all that the front end of the truck had a terrible noise; I thank G-d we made it back. I'm going back to U-Haul, they don't play games with your money, the transactions go through right away, and their trucks are in good working order. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.233.47.221 (talk) 02:32, 21 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
