Interesting Pacific/Asian features

anybody know how Brooke's "Irish/French/Portuguese-Jewish" ancestry resulted in her looking very South Pacific Asian (with a little Irish dimple face thrown in) looking?????

I don't buy it that she's primarily of European ancestry.

Well, not all Franco-Keltic-Galician-Semites look the same. Twalls (talk) 07:52, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
LOL. Good one!Hanksummers (talk) 02:08, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
She claims she's Franco-Keltic-Galician-Semite, but it doesn't mean that she is ONLY of that background. I also doubt that just because her religion's Jewish that she's even genetically considered a Semite. BTW, when Jews rag on Palestinians is that considered "anti-semitic"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.112.114.110 (talk) 04:10, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
Well, technically it's the Palestinians who are hating themselves by identifying as Arab, and thus honouring those who murdered and subjugated their ancestors —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.130.169.121 (talk) 16:07, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
Um, Arabs are part of the Semitic group as are Jews--108.23.216.223 (talk) 17:11, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure that the "Portuguese" part of her contains East Asian roots. The Portuguese were all over the world and their mixed offspring often traveled outside of their colonial abodes. That's why you can find Asian/Portuguese in many places like Europe, Asia Minor, India, Australia, and the Americas.

The funny part is that you talk "Semites" as being the reason for her looks that you call East Asian, or even the Portuguese part. Of course the Portuguese part would not be East Asian and the only people outside of Portugal I ever heard call themselves Portuguese are Cape Verdians and Brazilians. Let's not fool ourselves, you know the Portuguese part is AFRICAN and if you want to claim some mystical Semitic blood, then that would qualify as black too. If you think the so-called arabs that you see on TV today are actual arabs, then you are insane! The Turks were the last to rule those lands and all they did was change their names from Turks to arabs. Why do you think they all look on the lighter side? Just look at Assad of Syria, they look Ottoman Turk!

I only came here because an article talk about her thyroid cancer (something a lot of BLACK women get)and I had never heard of her. I saw a pic of her and realized that I saw her before and that she appeared half black to me. Looking up close at her hair and other features, I would bet on that. This article said her mother was adopted, so it could be. Many people only think of what they are shown as far as people being half black and half white and the results of that. They can look like anything. Jews are weird too. Too many of the white Jews have a lot of African characteristics which no one seems to want to explain any where. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.8.197.169 (talk) 16:43, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

"Feet Notes"

This is ridiculous. I'm removing it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.141.110.185 (talk) 16:18, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

"Personal Life and "Footnote"

I removed the "Brother Anthony" comments. This term is slang for a sexual act.

Honestly dude, you need to get a fucking life.

Dancing with the Stars

According to Wikipedia:Neutral point of view#Undue weight:

An article should not give undue weight to any aspects of the subject, but should strive to treat each aspect with a weight appropriate to its significance to the subject. Note that undue weight can be given in several ways, including, but not limited to, depth of detail, quantity of text, prominence of placement, and juxtaposition of statements.

I think that the table listing Burke's performances while on Dancing with the Stars gives undue weight to this aspect of Burke's life. There is no doubt that her participation on the show should be mentioned in the article, perhaps ultimately even its own paragraph, but listing the names of the songs to which she danced and how the judges scored her on each dance is simply too much detail. This level of detail in this article is equivalent to listing in an actor's biography every scene he or she had in a particular film; that information belongs in the article about the show/film, not in the biography.

Since this information is duplicated in Dancing with the Stars (U.S. season 7), I suggest removing the table from this article. –Black Falcon (Talk) 03:27, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

There has been no objection after 11 days, so I'm removing the section. –Black Falcon (Talk) 07:19, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
I see the table is still there. I agree it should be removed. Orimono (talk) 10:39, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

Videos (Playboy)

Has she ever been in any of the Playboy videos? Gutch220 (talk) 00:58, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Wild On (E! Series)

according to IMDB, she hosted the Wild On series starting in 1997, not 1999.

Brooke Burke / Charvet

If she's better known as Brooke Burke, wouldn't it make sense for that to be the title of the page? VenomousConcept (talk) 11:17, 29 October 2011 (UTC)

  • To me it would, but perhaps there is some policy that guides us here?--Milowenthasspoken 11:23, 29 October 2011 (UTC)
Does anyone know how to edit the title of a page? VenomousConcept (talk) 17:56, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
I'm sure Wikipedia policy is to title the page under the name that a person is best known as. So the page on Tony Curtis is titled Tony Curtis, not Bernard Schwartz. Freddie Mercury, not Farrokh Bulsara etc... VenomousConcept (talk) 18:00, 30 October 2011 (UTC)

Career Section

Sorry this section on her reads very poorly. It almost one a batch of single line paragraphs on she worked/on she appear in - maybe a listing would be better. And in a haphazard order. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wfoj2 (talkcontribs) 11:00, 9 June 2012 (UTC)

You can't take this reference seriously.

You can not take the first reference seriously... I mean it doesn't even make sense. "Her mother was Portugese BUT she was adopted that doesn't make sense! And this refernce in Esquire... She was born in 1972. She was born in 1971. She was born in 1970. Yeah... Really reliable! NOT!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 120.149.124.198 (talk) 11:06, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

Brooke Burke CharvetBrooke Burke – Per WP:COMMONNAME. Khloé Kardashian has been going by Khloé Kardashian Odom since her marriage in 2010 and her article is still titled by her maiden name. This page should be no exception. WikiRedactor (talk) 21:42, 19 July 2013 (UTC)
