grammar[edit]

I am hardly a specialist, but I must say this article is written in terrible English. Can someone check the grammar, please?

Looks like someone with little knowledge of english wrote it, translating polish text word by word with dictionary.Rudi Maxer (talk) 15:56, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Komorowski does not have the title of Acting President.[edit]

Thanks for going to the trouble of finding these. But this isn`t quite conclusive. Where does it explain the difference between Acting President, and being Marshal with Presidential powers? I see no difference. Do you have any citation that clearly states he is not Acting President? To illustrate the point, here is the New York Times today, referring to him as "the acting president" http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/11/world/europe/11warsaw.html - so you see, we have a problem that the vast majority of evidence is pointing one way. Yes, Currently Poland does not have a head of state. The Person who has the powers of head of state is Marshall of the Sejm Bronislaw Komorowski. The New York Times Article is wrong. It's not just the NYT - everyone is reporting it like this, something like 5000 news reports. You know they are all wrong, but we don't: you need to provide us with compelling evidence. That is how Wikipedia works. Where does it explain the difference between Acting President, and being Marshal with Presidential powers? I see no difference. The constitution actually says literally that the Marshal temporarily fulfills the duties of president. And "pełniący obowiązki" ("fulfilling the duties of..." is normally translated as/used as translation of "acting" (as in "pełniący obowiązki prezydenta" = "acting president"). He is not actually considered a head of state per se, but "acting president" is still a correct term. That's what "acting president" means - temporarily fulfilling the duties of and having the powers of a president without actually being one. Ausir (talk) 17:04, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well exactly, this is my point, "acting president" means "having presidential powers". Articles 131 and 128 of the Constitution of The Republic of Poland (adopted 2nd April 1997)[edit]

Article 131

1. If the President of the Republic is temporarily unable to discharge the duties of his office, he shall communicate this fact to the Marshal of the Sejm, who shall temporarily assume the duties of the President of the Republic. If the President of the Republic is not in a position to inform the Marshal of the Sejm of his incapacity to discharge the duties of the office, then the Constitutional Tribunal shall, on request of the Marshal of the Sejm, determine whether or not there exists an impediment to the exercise of the office by the President of the Republic. If the Constitutional Tribunal so finds, it shall require the Marshal of the Sejm to temporarily perform the duties of the President of the Republic. 2. The Marshal of the Sejm shall, until the time of election of a new President of the Republic, temporarily discharge the duties of the President of the Republic in the following instances:

1) the death of the President of the Republic;

2) the President's resignation from office;

3) judicial declaration of the invalidity of the election to the Presidency or other reasons for not assuming office following the election;

4) a declaration by the National Assembly of the President's permanent incapacity to exercise his duties due to the state of his health; such declaration shall require a resolution adopted by a majority vote of at least two-thirds of the statutory number of members of the National Assembly;

5) dismissal of the President of the Republic from office by a judgment of the Tribunal of State.

3. If the Marshal of the Sejm is unable to discharge the duties of the President of the Republic, such duties shall be discharged by the Marshal of the Senate. 4. A person discharging the duties of the President of the Republic shall not shorten the term of office of the Sejm.

Article 128

The term of office of the President of the Republic shall commence on the date of his assuming such office. The election of the President of the Republic shall be ordered by the Marshal of the Sejm to be held on a day no sooner than 100 days and no later than 75 days before expiry of the term of office of the serving President of the Republic, and in the event of the office of President of the Republic falling vacant - no later than the 14th day thereafter, specifying the date of the election which shall be on a non-working day and within a period of 60 days of the day of ordering the election.

Edit war[edit]

Counterinteligence WSI and Komorowski[edit]

1. Under what circumstances during the internment in 1982 did Komorowski met subsequent counterintelligence WSI (english: 'Military Information Services', polish: 'Wojskowe S322;u380;by Informacyjne') collaborator, nicknamed "Tomaszewski (dentist treating internees) and how long did Komorowski kept in touch with him?

2. Is it true that in 1991-92, when Komorowski was deputy minister of National Defense (polish: 'Obrony Narodowej'), he entrusted colaborator "Tomaszewski" a big amount of money (260,000 DM) to deposit it to „Bank Palucha” through colonel Janusz Rudzi324;ski? Where the money came from?

3. Was the recovery of that money, via callaborator "Tomaszewski" dealt using counterintelligence WSI? (Source: report on the Verification of WSI starting page 77)?

4. Is it true that, Komorowski as deputy minister of National Defense, after the first round of presidential elections in 1990 informed Krzysztof Wyszkowski that he (Komorowski) had received from the Military Internal Service (Wojskowa S322;u380;ba Wewn281;trzna, or WSW) detailed information on the content of the so-called. „black folder” from Stan Tymi324;ski - that is, evidence of collaboration with the SB of Lech Walesa? What kind of information Komorowski received from the military services?

5. On whose request Komorowski operated in 1992, when he turned to dr. Andrzej Grajewski for help to develop for counterintelligence WSI the analysis on external threats to the state? As is clear from the Report of the Verification of counterintelligence WSI, the officers intended to use Grajewski for typing and recruitment of collaborators among journalists.

6. Why in the early 90's it was decided by the Department of Defense Education (headed by deputy minister Komorowski) to rent the city's building in Warsaw for the Mercedes showroom's ('Sobieslaw Zasada Mercedes') and to purchase this brand cars for the army? Gen. Adam Tylus oversaw the transaction, and after becoming Polish army General he left the army and became director of the office handling public procurement Sobies322;aw Center SA. This company has cooperated with the Foundation 'Pro Civili'. In the 1998 disclosure documents signed by Krzysztof Werelich, the Foundation "Pro Civili" listed among providers of various goods the company of Sobies322;aw Zasada Centrum SA, Volvo Canada, and Pati Soft Ltd., and among "strategic consumers" it listed the Ministry of Defence. Then the ex-general Tylus become deputy CEO of Ster-Projekt and Ster-Projekt C4I technologies, dealing with the design and implementation of command and control systems, destined for the army. At the same time Tylus was a permanent adviser to the National Defence Committee, chaired by Bronislaw Komorowski. As published in the press 'according to Bronislaw Komorowski, the chairman of the Committee, the Rules of the Polish Parlament does not prohibit an adviser to be on the board of the company offering a host of hardware and services for the Polish Army ."

7. What determined the employment of General Adam Tylus as a political adviser in the office of Defense Minister Komorowski, and entrust him to the role of the permanent consultant of the National Defence Committee, chaired by Bronislaw Komorowski?

8. Why in 1991 Komorowski promoted former chief of Military Internal Service (WSW WOPK) col. Lucjan Jaworski as the Head of the Military Counterintelligence? In 80' Jaworski, was active in combating the anti-communist opposition, he destroyed the underground press, raced cooperating with the opposition filmmakers tracked "foreign origin" members of the opposition, assumed eavesdropping, He recruited agents. This is due to Jaworski's actions inprisoned Hanna Rozwadowska, the director of logistics, polish TV "News." After the appointment Jaworski led the 1991-93 operational activities against the independence and opposition circles against the government of Jan Olszewski. also oversaw the invigilation of Radoslaw Sikorski (current foreign minister).

9. Between 1990-1993, did Komorowski (as Deputy Minister, responsible for overseeing the military counter-intelligence activities) knew colonel Jaworski involvment in "Starling" action on Radoslaw Sikorski and the operational activities undertaken by WSI against the opposition circles?

10. Did Komorowski as deputy minister of National Defence in 2001 use hospitality of the owner of Auto-Hit Krzysztof Strykiera - Fiat dealer from Tychy, who rented a chalet in the village 24 km from Władysławów Janow Lubelski and was Komorowski for many years hunting in this village with his family and friends?

11. Is it true that during under Komorowski's term as Ministry of Defense he purchased 48 cars (Fiat Seicento) from Fiat Auto Poland, destined for the Military Police and 10 cars directly from the company Auto-Hit?

12. What was the reason for removal of the Director of the Department of Science and Higher Military Defense Krzysztof Borowiak in 2001? Was this is related to the start (in the buildings of the Military Technical Academy) of a private enterprise of the Warsaw College, founded by the Foundation for the Development of Education and Technology, which proved to be business run by WSI officers? 13. Is it true that in 2001 the director Krzysztof Borowiak did not get any response from Komorowski to his report about criminal activities during the Military Technical Academy (WAT) privatization, carried by the members of the university authorities?

14. How the reform of military education was carried out under the direction of the Minister Komorowski protege, adviser in his office – general Bogusław Smólski?

15. Is it true that the military has commissioned the counterinteligence WSI of conducting operations against R. Szeremietiew and Z. Farmus? (source: "Zycie Warszawy " May 7th, 2004: "I commissioned WSI coverage of Zbigniew F. (assistant deputy minister) and Romuald Sz. - Former Chief of Defence says Komorowski.). Early Life and Family[edit]

Bronisław Komorowski has no rights to use the Korczak family crest. After genealogists checked Bronisław Komorowski family tree they noted that it's the "wrong" branch of the Korczak coat of arms. All the family crest/gentry family information was subsequently removed from the official President's website. Please update this information in the wiki article about Bronisław Komorowski.
