reference sourcing problem[edit]

I am in possession of the physical manuals for this device. However, while Roland maintains pdfs of manuals for almost every device they've ever released, subsidiary Boss is not so diligent, and one oversight is the DR-220.

I don't presently see an online copy available from a site that doesn't expect payment and doesn't set off any of my "potential malware source" warnings. Anyone who knows better would be of great help in finally getting this article up to speed! Weeb Dingle (talk) 20:38, 4 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

historic details[edit]

In dismissing the DR-220 as garbage, another site says the device was released 1986, so I am amenable to correction if reliable data can be found.

As well, MSRP would be helpful (original, final, or intermediate) -- so as to substantiate the common "budget" label -- along with any credible sourced estimates of production figures.

I don't know if Roland serial numbers have any particular significance. The 220A I have at hand is #91668.

Wiki newb here, hope this is the correct place for this. I have a 220A, bought myself in 1988 in UK, price £149 (I still have receipt). Mine is Serial 905741. The other point is that I had the case open recently and there's no evidence of a coin cell to preserve backup. Happy to scan to PDF the manuals if it's any help.

Thanks -- the offer is sincerely appreciated! But what I'm hoping for, for the sake of the article, is a link to something readily available online which can then support the spec data presented here. Weeb Dingle (talk) 19:02, 21 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Memory Backup[edit]

"There are 32 in-built patterns, and another 32 are user-programmable and remain in memory after power-off, preserved by a 2032 "coin" backup battery."

This is wrong, according to the manual (and to my own experience, i have the DR-220) the memory is backed up by the 4 AA batteries. There is no CR2032 battery. Memory will be lost if the batteries are getting low or will not be replaced fast enough. Horacewimp64 (talk) 14:26, 30 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I still haven't dared open up my DR-220A, but as I can find no credible reference to a backup "button" battery, I've cut this. Thanks for the input, folks!
