Haslingden Halo website Spam[edit]

This article (and related articles about Rossendale, Rawtenstall and Haslingden) are being defaced with the inclusion of links to website about the Haslingden Halo. This website is not official (and does not appear affiliated with any official organisations). Additionally, the quality of the content is very poor with low resolution photos, and poorly written content (with no source or citations). It seems somewhat plausible (although speculation) that this website is commercially motivated, with numerous adverts. Therefore, inclusion of this link is unhelpful, and lowers the quality of the respective Wikipedia entries.

Rossendale Radio spam[edit]

The entire section about Rossendale radio is so prominent that it is singling it out, however it "was" just part of the entertainment and should remain within that section. However since it was discontinued in 2012 it is misleading to continue to give it so much space in such a prominent position on the page. A mention that Rossendale once had a radio station is enough - perhaps someone can add a link to the Rossendale Radio Wikipedia page where - if a reader is interested they can find out more. I have removed the entire section and left a mention of the website - that is adequate. Cadstar_User (talk) 22:27, 26 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

RossendaleBorough of Rossendale – Per WP:NATURAL and WP:COMMONNAME the district is usually called "Rossendale District"[1] or "Borough of Rossendale" in a generic context even though "Rossendale" is the preferred label by the OS, presumably when its clear from the context that you're referring to the district. The district appears to be named after the valley and much content should probably be moved to the valley article from here. "Rossendale" should then become a DAB, the DAB can also include Rossendale (UK Parliament constituency), Rossendale United F.C., Rossendale Bus, Tony Greenwood, Baron Greenwood of Rossendale and Rossendale RUFC. There is also Rossendale, Nova Scotia which doesn't appear to be covered yet but there is a GeoNames id. Crouch, Swale (talk) 09:38, 24 September 2018 (UTC) --Relisting. Query re inclusion of Rossendale Male Voice Choir[edit]

The bit about the choir was clearly added by someone who was involved with it, so I toned it down to just mention when it was formed and added a citation. But after thinking about it, I wonder if I should just delete that bit entirely. There's no article about the choir for a start.

Any thoughts? KaraLG84 (talk) 09:56, 9 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
