Does Boobie Miles have any notability outside of the book? His career was promising, but ended in high school, before (AIUI) notability as an athlete would be established. His main claim to fame is very clearly from having appeared in this book - no book, and we just wouldn't be here discussing this. WP:BLP1E wouldn't seem to be on his side there, especially not when we have the more appropriate article on the book itself. Andy Dingley (talk) 19:56, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

He's notable per WP:NCOLLATH, which states that "High school and pre-high school athletes are notable only if they have received, as individuals, substantial and prolonged coverage that is (1) independent of the subject and (2) clearly goes beyond WP:ROUTINE coverage." Miles has certainly received prolonged coverage in Sports Illustrated, ESPN and other media that would allow him to qualify for his own article outside that of the book/movie. --Yankees76 Talk 13:48, 11 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Delete/Relocate?[edit]

High School Football Career // Friday Night Lights: [...] He tore his ACL and tried to play but lost speed, so he quit.

Does this belong in the FNL film section? The statement applies to his real-life experience -- which in my opinion, was adequately described in the previous paragraphs. Considering that the rest of the passage is film-specific, I suggest deletion. Gprobins (talk) 20:46, 11 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
