Citation needed or would this be copyright infringement?[edit]

Whole sentences, and in one case most of a paragraph of this Web page:

http://bobdemoor.canalblog.com/archives/2006/05/25/1952140.html

were used in the first French Wiki article (without citation) here:

http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_de_Moor

and apparently translated into the first Wiki English article (also without citation):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_de_Moor

Another question. It's not clear who origially wrote the non-Wiki version of the text, since the same words are used on several Web sites. If a citation were to be needed, would this cause a problem? Alpha Ralpha Boulevard 13:46, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The page you linked to claims that the article comes from [1], which seems quite possible. It is indeed a copyvio, so the normal thing to do would be / will be to completely delete the article (since all versions since the first have this problem), and start again from scratch. That's a pity, since we will lose a lot of work, but I don't think it can be helped. I'll delete the page, I'll let you have the honour of rcereating it (if you feel like it), and I'll see how much I can contribute to it. Could you drop a note on the French Wikipedia as well?
Oh, and thanks for pointing this out, such things are important. Fram 13:55, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, Fram. That makes sense. I'd enjoy writing the new Bob de Moor page, but I'm not the appropriate person, since most of what I know about him relates to his work on Tintin. The general outline of the original article seemed satisfactory, although perhaps lacking in quotes about Bob de Moor's artistic perspective on his work. If I can help in any other way, I will.
I'll definitely drop a line to the French Wiki.Alpha Ralpha Boulevard 14:22, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Have fun. In order to avoid image orphanage and link dwindeling while stuff was still fresh, I put back up the work I did that is verily not copyvio. MURGH disc. 15:37, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Name[edit]

The last name is spelled as De Moor. The title should be changed in Bob De Moor. Happytravels (talk) 22:49, 6 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
