What about the ghost?[edit]

I looked up this page to refresh my memory about a ghostly tale associated with Blickling Hall, but there isn't a word about it here. I'm not suggesting it really is haunted, but I seem to remember this being one of the most famous and long-established ghost stories of the traditional English type. I think a phantom coach driven by a headless horseman is supposed to bring Anne Boleyn back home on the anniversary of her death, though I forget whether she herself has a head. Probably not.

I was right. I googled a few other websites and apparently she turns up in a coach driven by a headless man and drawn by four headless horses with her head in her lap. And there seem to be at least four other ghosts too, most of them headless (it must be catching). There are actually six ghosts, if you count Anne Boleyne outside the house once a year without a head and Anne Boleyne inside the house with a head all year round as separate apparitions. It's a load of nonsense of course, but rather entertaining nonsense, and it appears to be a long-standing tradition. No. Wikipedia’s an encyclopaedia, not a site for “entertaining nonsense”. What the article does need is coverage of the architecture of the house. How about you focus on that instead? KJP1 (talk) 05:04, 5 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
