Notability[edit]

Hello. I am concerned that this company does not meet WP:NCORP, since the coverage consists solely of puff-piece articles relying on interviews with the founders. Regards, MrsSnoozyTurtle 08:51, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @MrsSnoozyTurtle - the wide-ranging articles (I have added another two since you did not like my WP:THREE) referenced by this article may feature some interview content, but none are devoted to it and all are also made up of secondary write up by the independent sources. I'm not sure how you can discount of all of the original sources as puff pieces given that they detail the operational challenges and difficulties that the brewery has faced as a business in the occupied Palestinian territories. They are certainly somewhat positive, but that is mainly because discussions about craft breweries tend to be lively culture pieces. However, if it is doom and gloom that you desire, you may be happy with the two new sources I have added, as these add several further early controversies.
I would also add that notability in the context of this very niche subject cannot necessarily be determined solely by WP:GNG considerations. Emerging microbreweries in the Middle East, where they are rare and controversial, are innately more notable than comparable businesses in jurisdictions where the emergence of microbreweries is a more mundane event. Such entries help add depth and colour to the distinct cultural narrative of Palestine Christians separate to that of the Palestinian Muslim majority, while the issues faced by businesses such as this, both as a result of the administrative structures of the Israeli government and the Palestinian Authority, are important to document within the broader context of the Israel-Palestine conflict and its economic impact. I think the sources currently in the article are enough to satisfy the notability requirement. But we'd need better sources than Wine Enthusiast for controversial claims, like the idea that the brewery faces restrictions in access to water. Inf-in MD (talk) 14:17, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I certainly think it is reasonable to examine this source quite closely, but industry news publication can be reliable sources on the subjects they concern. Examples listed on WP:RS/PS include AVN and TheWrap. They may potentially also be more demonstrably neutral. It is difficult to imagine a publication such as the Wine Enthusiast Magazine having inherent bias or a particular political agenda in mind. Iskandar 323 (talk) 14:44, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, they can be considered a reliable source on the quality of water used to make the beer, but not on the legal framework governing access to water. I agree that they are unlikely to have an inherent bias, but I think that since this lies outside their area of expertise, they are likely just repeating something they've been told. We'd need a better source for this, as it is an exceptional claim. Inf-in MD (talk) 14:49, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback from New Page Review process[edit]

I left the following feedback for the creator/future reviewers while reviewing this article: I have checked the references, and the talk page. I have discerned the references give notability. A very interesting situation, Arabs making beer in Palestine..
