lemon and orange? How on earth do they make lemon and orange taste *exactly* like bubblegum? Zebulin 23:46, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I never really considered it a bubblegum flavor, but I know of others who do describe it that way. Overall, you can't taste lemon or orange in it at all... Maotx 16:21, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I never really have thought it was bubblegum either, more strawberry and vanilla. But the "fruit" flavor is largely an X factor, it's possible I just have assumed it was strawberry because the soda is red. Also, it might be worth noting that the concept of bubblegum as an artificial flavor is very possibly based on the cream vanilla. 71.252.177.83 18:09, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Any idea what the proper name for the flavor that 'plain' pink bubblegum is? I was looking for an article that might describe the constituents of that flavor but the bubblegum article and chewing gum article was no help at all. Zebulin 19:19, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If it was not red I don't think people would associate it with bubble gum flavor. It does not taste like bubble gum to me. Until I had read this article I had assumed it's flavor was entirely artificial. It does have a fruit like flavor, it's not bitter or sour. It is sweet, but light. The scent you pickup after a sip registers nothing like bubble gum. I don't think there is any way to accurately describe it's flavor. Big Red tastes like Big Red, you will just have to try it. It is definately something worth trying. Koft 09:16, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
"Bubble Gum" flavor was used descriptively in the article because that's how the flavor is often described in the media, so it is the only verfiable descrip I could find. --BizMgr (talk) 17:31, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My teacher is from Texas and she let the whole class try it, and most of us thought it tasted more like cough syrup than anything. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.89.209.217 (talk) 03:37, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have never thought bubblegum either, although my wife says it smells like bubblegum. However what is the purpose of the statement "It is generally classified as an American variety of cream soda which is almond in flavor?" Does that mean Big Red has an almond flavor or that cream sodas have an almond flavor? There is absolutely no hint of an almond flavor in Big Red, and the cream soda page does not mention an almond flavor either. And who is "generally?" This is an unsupported claim as stated, is there any reference to support it? I think the part about almond flavor needs to be deleted. Sccgeography (talkcontribs) 13:49, 1 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Mexico[edit]

Did I see Big Red for sale in Mexico City a couple of weeks ago? I believe I did. 99.247.1.157 (talk) 01:04, 6 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

References errors[edit]

There is some duplicate key error message in the references section. I don't know enough about how this sausage is made to fix: I edit it and it appears mostly empty of content. In any case, that first footnote source is behind a paywall, but the same information is here: https://www.thrillist.com/drink/dallas/10-things-you-didn-t-know-about-big-red-thrillist-dallas if someone smarter than me wants to fix. I'd be interested in a short summary of explanation for my observations, if convenient. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lontjr (talkcontribs) 17:22, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Discontinued flavors[edit]

Do not know when it discontinued Big Orange? Do not know what year when it was introduced? Do not know what year when it discontinued? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.113.124.115 (talk) 04:37, 21 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I see two websites that list the discontinuation date in 2011. They are soda/pop focused wiki's with no citations unfortunately. BroncoHawk (talk) 03:48, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
