Did You Know (Jan. 4th 2019)

Not only is the DYK fact not present in the text of the article , but the source doesn't support the idea that the removal of the students was at Maguire's direction. Text of the article: "As president, Maguire was liked by the students, but had a reputation for being stern. This was evidenced by the fact that a student uprising broke out during his tenure; it was quickly quashed after a lecture by Maguire to the students at breakfast the following morning.[7]" Text from the quoted source: "During the third year of his theology a rebellion took place among the students, seventy of whom withdrew from the college." 8.19.241.10 (talk) 16:29, 4 January 2019 (UTC)

Very late reply, but the Curran 1993 reference on page 211 supports the statement that it was Maguire who expelled the students. Ergo Sum 22:58, 2 February 2020 (UTC)

Damaged buildings

I noticed that "damaged buildings" were mentioned in the "Second presidency" section. How and when were they damaged? Also, why did enrollment suffer during the Civil War? Were there a lot of students enlisting in the Army? AmericanLemming (talk) 02:05, 6 February 2020 (UTC)

@AmericanLemming: I believe you might find History of Georgetown University#The Civil War answers some of your questions. Ergo Sum 03:07, 6 February 2020 (UTC)

Find A Grave

Per WP:FINDAGRAVE-EL, I wonder why "Find A Grave" is still included in the external links? Elizium23 (talk) 04:57, 11 February 2021 (UTC)

@Elizium23:, per that policy, this particular Find a Grave page contains photos of the grave (and others) that cannot be transferred to Wikipedia for copyright reasons. Therefore, it contains information that this article does not. Ergo Sum 05:13, 11 February 2021 (UTC)
