Both comments regarding the "ata" thing are absolutely irrelevant. First of all, he says "ata", not "ahtra", second of all ... why is it at all significant that "ata" means "twins" in Norwegian? I seriously, seriously doubt Parker and Stone were alluding to that, and otherwise, it's not particularly interesting as a coincidence either.

Are you forgetting that "twins" is a slang term for breasts? That might be where the significance lies.

Writers are being lazy?[edit]

Why do Wikipedia allow people to write things like: Perhaps the writers are just being lazy..." ? Surely this goes against Wikipedia's guidlines of being neutral in pages? Grieferhate 21:30, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The main plot of this episode is a parody of the movie Slums of Beverly Hills, in which the protagonist grows breasts and gains a new level of popularity among the male crowd, and attempts to get breast reduction surgery.
In this episode, Cartman often plays a game called "Lambs", which uses toys to re-enact a scene from The Silence of the Lambs.
Planet of the Apes and 2001: A Space Odyssey are parodied while the boys act like cavemen. A space shuttle crashes outside Bebe's house, and two astronauts climb out. On asking the boys to call 911, and hearing only the caveman-like grunts the boys make, the astronauts conclude that they have landed in the future, as in Planet of the Apes, and proceed to shoot themselves, declaring "Take your ape world and go to hell!". 2001 was also parodied in the “Trapper Keeper” and “The Tooth Fairy Tats 2000” episodes.
Stan, while in his caveman persona, calls boobs “ah-tah,” a word meaning "fire" in the language of the characters of the movie Quest for Fire.
The scene of Bebe’s boobs conspiring while she’s asleep is a parody of a similar scene involving hands in Quicksilver Highway.
One of the boys (Token) near the end of the episode says “Fire, bad!”, referencing Frankenstein.

These are cultural references, not theories which require proof. If you also note that each one has a link to the wikipedia article which it claims that reference is made to, they are actually cited. Unless your cite is from a reputable source, stating what the creators of the show meant by including a scene or line of script, then all you're doing is citing speculation. Oh dear...these ARE references. I doubt there is any source that would dispute this. What is your real objection?! Also, a major reference is the entire scene which is lifted right out of Mad Max II (with 'just walk away'). The fact that Butters is dressed in a gimp mask and Kenny gets a boomerang in the face, the girls are wearing the armour and defending an oil depot which explodes in a ball of flame...hang on...this is all complete conjecture...there is no proof that this is what the writers intended to show so we have to exclude it... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.194.219.39 (talk) 22:54, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pardon my lack of wikiskills, but I just have to rant.. Alastairward, do you suffer from brain damage? Have you actually editet every article regarding episodes of every single series and taken away all the cultural references? You're right, we have no idea what the creators were actually thinking when the wrote what they wrote, but so what? Seriusly, I have no interest reading that whatsoever, as I am not contributing to wikipedia by editing articles. As for what goes on in the discussion; there shouldn't be rules regarding code of frickin conduct. Man up. I just came here to read trivia about a south park episode I just watched, only to find that you've fucked things up. Fortunately, I know my way around diff-tools and got hold of them anyway.
