Name of the area[edit]

I am concerned about the description of where the name came from, that it was due to successful relationships with the Beothuk people. In doing a bit more research these people were hunted and killed on purpose or by disease with colonialism (https://archive.macleans.ca/article/1959/10/10/the-people-who-were-murdered-for-fun) which is counter to the term "successful encounters" currently written on this site. I recommend a rewrite of this page with reconciliation in mind as the people were wiped out through the introduction of settlers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2607:FEA8:95E5:1000:E4DD:385E:F1C0:A917 (talk) 14:49, 2 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
