Ifor Hael was an English lord[edit]

Currently the article reads "In the 14th century (fl. c. 1320 - 1360/1380), a Welsh lord, Ifor Hael". However, since the Wales is simply a district of England, at the time under the English crown, his lordship is only established via his ancestor being given land by the Normans and his continued submission to the King of England as his King. He was an "English Lord living in the principality of Wales". Pbhj (talk) 14:04, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is a willfully ridiculous assertion. Ifor Hael was a Welsh-speaking 'lord' in Wales who was a patron of Dafydd ap Gwilym, commonly regarded as the finest Welsh poet. 79.77.14.125 (talk) 13:15, 23 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
