Computer Network and Learning Centre[edit]

Although I've been out of the school for a few years now, I'm still very interested in seeing the advances they are making in terms of the computer facilities and learning centre. I think they would merit larger mentions at some point, but I don't have the knowledge to write a decent section on that yet. Stuhacking 17:33, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Peer Review[edit]

The whole article is extremely unreferenced. There is a load of fluff in the article about reputation for this and that, but there are no sources. It needs to be de-POVed with the help of some independent references. At the minute some sections read more like an advert than an encyclopedia article. The article as a whole is too wordy. This is not getting at this particular school. It is a common problem in most NI school articles.

This is an automated javascript peer review:

The following suggestions were generated by a semi-automatic javascript program, and might not be applicable for the article in question.

  • Please expand the lead to conform with guidelines at Wikipedia:Lead. The article should have an appropriate number of paragraphs as is shown on WP:LEAD, and should adequately summarize the article.[?]
  • There may be an applicable infobox for this article. For example, see Template:Infobox Biography, Template:Infobox School, or Template:Infobox City.[?] (Note that there might not be an applicable infobox; remember that these suggestions are not generated manually)
  • Watch for redundancies that make the article too wordy instead of being crisp and concise. (You may wish to try Tony1's redundancy exercises.)
    • Vague terms of size often are unnecessary and redundant - “some”, “a variety/number/majority of”, “several”, “a few”, “many”, “any”, and “all”. For example, “All pigs are pink, so we thought of a number of ways to turn them green.”
  • This article needs footnotes, preferably in the cite.php format recommended by WP:WIAFA. Simply, enclose inline citations, with WP:CITE or WP:CITE/ES information, with <ref>THE FOOTNOTE</ref>. At the bottom of the article, in a section named “References” or “Footnotes”, add <div class="references-small"><references/></div>.[?]
  • The article will need references. See WP:CITE and WP:V for more information.[?]
  • Please ensure that the article has gone through a thorough copyediting so that it exemplifies some of Wikipedia's best work. See also User:Tony1/How to satisfy Criterion 1a.[?]

You may wish to browse through User:AndyZ/Suggestions for further ideas. Thanks, Weejack48 21:24, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Ballyclare High Logo.gif[edit]

Image:Ballyclare High Logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:49, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Past Pupils[edit]

Hey Guys, I replaced the Past Pupils section with a table presenting the same information - trimmed in places because a lot of it seemed very POV-esque. If you need to get any of the original text then you can find it on my todo page User:Stuhacking/todo.

I would like this replacement to mark the start of a vast upgrade to the Ballyclare High article - as you can see other wikipedians have flagged it grossly uncited, and untidy. If possible can others try and fill in the dates of attendance for the remaing notable alumni - I have restructred the section but not added any further info yet. Hair Rule[edit]

Should this page not have something surrounding the hair contaversy, this may have been on it for a while and then removed but this is still an important topic of debate with in and outside the school. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.71.155.163 (talk) 21:27, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
