Merge[edit]

I would tend to agree with you. The Daliboz and Karabakh are the only two subtypes that currently have their own articles. I wasn't sure on the Karabakh because of the current dispute over ownership of that piece of territory. The Daliboz can be merged for sure - I was just leaving the tags up for a while to see if anyone had any problems with the merge. Dana boomer (talk) 00:25, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Let's merge Daliboz for sure. I'm VERY nervous about touching the Karabakh issue, though. It would make the troubles we periodically have with the Slovenian nationalists at Lipizzan article look like a cakewalk. Whenever people are actually shooting at each other in the real world, we run a risk of inadvertently getting ourselves sucked into a maelstrom. It's kind of why we have 8 articles on Indonesian pony breeds, even though I really can't see that there's a lick of difference between them, other than living on different islands. JMO. That said, if there IS a merge -- and if someone other than me wants to take point -- this would be the most suitable "home" article. I checked the watcher and fewer than 30 people have either article watchlisted, so that's a point. :-P Montanabw^(talk) 18:04, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Daliboz are Arabian-bred[edit]

The term "Araber", literally "Arabian" (minus the addition "purebred") is a specifically German term used to describe Arabian horses that are nearly, but not quite, purebred - that is to say, horses that are proven to have small percentages of non-Arabian blood far back in their pedigrees.

They are also known as "Araberrasse", which translates as "Arabian-bred".

This classification used to include the Shagya-Arabians, until they achieved recognition s a breed in themselves.
