Creation[edit]

I created this page because just a brief amount of searching will show that A) this is a significant publisher who merits a Wikipedia entry but that B) on line resources demonstrating the publisher's history are not easy to interpret. By having this Wikipedia entry, there is a chance that editor's better informed will be able to put some more flesh on these bones. Why have I done this? Because I keep finding books in my library from this publisher. I wanted to know more and it was not easy to find a quick bio.Robertforsythe (talk) 10:11, 30 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

References[edit]

The article contained a number of references. Someone has deleted them but left the numbers in. The article did all make sense prior to 30th July 2013. Now it does not.Robertforsythe (talk) 14:13, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Issue in interpretation[edit]

This entry was initially compiled using two available sources. A Wikipedia search and an Open Library entry. It is however likely that the latter is misleading. When individual early book covers are brought up a different publisher is shown on the flyleaf. The logic suggests that this publisher came into prominence in the 1960s largely as a reprint publisher. Own imprint first editions go back to at least 1956.
NOTE^^Not my edit; I moved this from the main article.Dylanfromthenorth (talk) 05:51, 14 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
