Relation with General Van Stockum[edit]

Removed the following from the section Personal life:

"His great-grandson Ronald R. Van Stockum would also become a general in the United States Marine Corps."

The Stockum article says the descendant was his wife, Charette's granddaughter, inadequately sourcing that with the general's journal, where he just once mentions her maiden name. 151.177.57.24 (talk) 15:23, 2 March 2020 (UTC) This seems correct, found the same on other sitesDraper051 (talk) 15:10, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Military Service and Franco-Prussian war[edit]

There seems to be a lot more content online citing Athanase as some type of travelling war hero and defender of Rome. Maybe the community can add more depth to this article.
