Suggestion for change[edit]

Hello, I am not a Wikipedia editor but I am someone who knows the residents of At-Tawani in real life. This sentence in the "settler attacks" section was just added on Oct 3: "Despite the names and fronts of these organizations violence Is promoted in the whole community in At-Tuwani and surrounding villages are active in violent action and training towards the Israeli settlers." The sentence has no citation and is obviously both polemical and verifiably false in real life. I would like to request editors remove it. Thank you.

Name[edit]

The spelling and pronunciation Tawani seems to be the one used locally, rather than Tuwani. Tawani is also the spelling used by Newspapers like Haaretz and by the Israeli government itself: https://mfa.gov.il/MFA/PressRoom/2010/Pages/Civil_Administration_link_ATawani_village_Mekorot_25-Jul-2010.aspx other than being the way the Palestinian residents refer to it. Would anyone oppose moving the article to Tawani? Dan Palraz (talk) 12:13, 15 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know anything about the pronunciation, but you aren't right about Haaretz. They use both spellings but Tuwani more often. At mfa.gov.il I get 2 hits for each. I also see good Palestinian sources like this one using Tuwani. So I'm not convinced. Zerotalk 14:18, 15 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
