What do you meen by "a few dozen"? The first Assembly in 1992 was the biggest demo party ever organised in Finland thus far - with 700 people. The next one was over twice as big. 62.78.204.68 06:12, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Demo/intro compo winners table[edit]

Let me know what you think about the layout/contents of this table.. I might use it for other big parties (e.g. The Party, Breakpoint) as well. --Vossanova o< 18:30, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thumbs to the ceiling - just add some links ;) // Gargaj 18:37, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Consider it done! I'll just hold off on external/pouet links for now. --Vossanova o< 19:08, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Damn fine - who does one for BP? // Gargaj 01:06, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
In the case of BP we could put rotate the table by 90 degrees (we've only had 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 anyway, so they fit quite well for the table width) so that we have room for some other compos too (4K intros, 96K game, Console/Realwild etc). The table for TP however would probably go in the same format as the Assembly table. --Viznut 06:28, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Did TP table --Viznut 08:02, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think we should keep the vertical layout since we're going to have more BP parties eventually and it's going to be a bitch to update.. How about splitting into multiple tables, maybe according to platform? // Gargaj 15:16, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, let's keep them all vertical. I realize that means only 4 or 5 compos in each table, but that forces us to decide which ones are most worth listing. With BP, we have Amiga demo/64k, PC demo/64k, and C64 demo. But since there are only four years to list so far, we could possibly add a second table with columns for, say, wild, console demo, and 4ks. But for long-running parties like TG, TP, and Asm, two tables is a bit too much. --Vossanova o< 15:25, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Let's take the discussion to Talk:Breakpoint demo party // Gargaj 15:33, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Is there a reason for why the table transforms Amiga and PC into Combined, and only C64 to Oldskool? Shouldn't Oldskool consist of C64 and Amiga? // Sylph 15:08, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, "oldskool platform" in Assembly terminology has never covered "modern" Amigas (with AGA chipset etc). OCS/ECS Amigas, of course, are in the oldskool category. --Viznut 08:00, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

what does combined mean?[edit]

Under "Competitions" and in the "Demo and intro competition winners" table I see combined demo but not its defintion. The term also appears in pouet.net and in the assembly prize list (http://www.assembly.org/summer07/compos/prizes) (but not in http://www.assembly.org/summer07/compos/realtime/demo#demo). Does it mean the competition has now combined the originally separate Amiga and PC competitions, and likewise for the combined intros? -Wikianon 19:20, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bingo. The column spanning in the chart helps demonstrate the "combination". Still, I added a paragraph before the table to help explain the "combined" compos. If there's anything else you feel should be added/changed about it, let me know. --Vossanova o< 12:49, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

2012 winter party in Helsinki?[edit]

assembly.org/winter12/ Here u can see Assembly winter party will pass in Helsinki, but "The new winter party is a more gaming oriented event in Tampere where the summer events continues the traditions of the original demoparty in Helsinki under the name Assembly Summer." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mammuthus (talkcontribs) 17:59, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well it was for first held in Tampere but it moved to Helsinki at some point. I removed the mentions of the cities. Viltz (talk) 20:54, 7 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
