Formal title of Knibb's work[edit]

The formal title of M. A. Knibb's work in The Old Testament Pseudepigrapha, vol. 2, 1985 is Martyrdom and Ascension of Isaiah (Second Century B.C.-Fourth Century A.D.)" It is kind of hard for him to be saying that entire work was written in AD 150 and 200 when the very title puts parts in the "Second Century B.C."--174.99.238.22 (talk) 12:28, 9 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Possible authorship of Melito of Sardis[edit]

According to Brian E. Daley, SJ, Saint Melito of Sardis is ", the Christian author of the Ascension of Isaiah, and the authors of V Ezra, The Odes of Solomon, and The Letter on the Martyrs of Lyon and Vienne (who may be the young Irenaeus himself)." (DOI 10.1093/jts/45.1.298, freely available here).

The current WP article doesn't mention Melito yet. The source may be cited as a possible authorship of the text.Philosopher81sp (talk) 11:53, 15 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
