Articuno's Gender, Beauty, etc.[edit]

I am sick and tired of people spamming up the article saying that Pikachu and Charizard have a crush on Articuno, thinking it was like a beautiful girl. Sure, in the Battle Frontier, it has a feminine sounding voice, but Pokémon can still be female (like my Onix and my Swampert 0_o). And according to the games, Articuno is GENDERLESS. It may be beautiful, but how can you tell Pikachu and Charizard think that if all they can say are roars and "Pika Pika!"? Shadoman 11:56, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Some people just watch the shows and are unfamiliar with the games, so NEWS FLASH! Latios and Latias are the ONLY Legendary Pokemon that aren't androgynous. As I've said on the Pikachu TP, voice and voice actor has little bearing on gender. -Jeske (v^_^v) 17:45, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Opening paragraph[edit]

The first paragraph describes what a Pokemon is. If you want to know what a Pokemon is, find the article on Pokemon. Writing the first paragraph about what Pokemon are is irrelevant. Darkren91 10:10, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

Consensus to merge. While the opening argument that articles about the legendary birds should follow that of Abra, Kadabra, and Alakazam was weak, editors in favor of the change invoked Xerneas and Yveltal, a better point of comparison, as well as asserting that the three birds are generally referred to in tandem by RS. Opposing arguments, other than refutations of the first weak argument, were limited to an argument in favor of the status quo for the sake of being the status quo, which is not a particularly strong argument. I propose to merge Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres into Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. Similarly to Abra, Kadabra, and Alakazam I think that the content in the Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres articles can easily be explained in the same context, and the existing articles are of a reasonable size that the merging will not cause any problems as far as article size is concerned. ~ Arkhandar (message me) 01:25, 4 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support I recall proposing this before. "They aren't the same" isn't a valid argument, because they are almost always mentioned/depicted as a trio, being the "legendary bird trio" of Pokemon.
