Addressing User:Lihaas comments. Dear colleague. The Armenian Catholic Church and Armenian Evangelical Church are not "fringe" or "minor" churches (who are we to decide what's a "minor church" and a "major church"? Both Armenian Catholic and Armenian Evangelical Churches are mainstream Armenian Churches in equal footing with the Armenian Apostolic Church. Even the Armenian Apostolic Church will not assert that it is "the" Armenian Church itself. True, the majority of Armenians are adherents to the Armenian Apostolic Church. But that doesn't mean the others are not part of the Armenian Church, a concept that is all-inclusive rather than just denominational (Apostolic i.e. Orthodox). I find your comment inaccurate and might be a very sensitive issue to hundreds of thousands of Armenian Catholics and Armenian Evangelicals who are part of the Armenian Church as well and not some fringe faction as your comments allude to. The redirect to Armenian Apostolic Church was premature and done with minimum discussion of just two brief comments. Furthermore it is false to assert that the Armenian Church is actually the Armenian Apostolic Church. The Armenian Church is not exclusively the Armenian Apostolic Church, albeit the Armenian Apostolic Church is the main, major one. Even the Armenian Apostolic Church itself does not consider irtself The Armenian Church per se. What was done as a revert is a huge misrepresentation of what the Armenian Church is and a measure of great disrespect for the other Armenian churches which are also part of the Armenian Church. I am requesting that the redirect is reverted to its previous form which was a proper presentation of the Armenian Church (Apostolic, Catholic and Evangelical). werldwayd (talk) 15:31, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

that clearly states Հայ Կաթողիկե Եկեղեցի (Armenian Catholic Church) and Հայ Ավետարանական Եկեղեցի (Armenian Evangelical Church) as part of Հայ Եկեղեցի (the Armenian Church).

The redirect just encourages unsuspecting English Wikipedia readers obligatorily to a page just designated so (simply out of misled comments found on this talk page), instead of showing him or her all the valid and historically established Armenian Churches and he can make the choice from the list after after becoming aware of the choices he can make himself. In other words, what we have done with this unfortunate redirect, is we have dictated to the reader what Armenian Church is accordingly to our own notion of what it is, rather than the acknowledged fact including by the Armenian Apostolic Church itself that the Armenian Church is clearly multi-denominational - Orthodox, Catholic and Evangelical.

Meanwhile I have added a cautionary disambiguation line on top of the Armenian Apostolic Church as a temporary solution so that they are at least led to the disambiguation page from there when the redirect leads them to the Apostolic Church. I think we owe them that type of note as a minimum reminder of the other churches.

Anyhoo, the majority of the church (overwhelmingly) is to the Apostolic one. We left notes and conditions for a hat note to redirect to the disambiguation. Were not surpressing anythingLihaas (talk) 21:48, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
