Timeform Data[edit]

The page lists Arkle's timeform score as 212, and states that it is the highest ever given. However, on Sea Bird II's page, his timeform score is listed as 145, and stated as the highest ever given. Arkle was a steeplechaser; Sea Bird II raced only over the flat. There are different scales for flat, hurdle, and steeplechase horses, see Timeform's greatest racehorses. Clearly, some clarification is in order, and the page should be clear about which Timeform scale is referred to. AliasMarlowe (talk) 17:08, 12 October 2008 (UTC) Auto writes.[reply]

Agreed - but 212 is - I suggest - above 145, I think. Horses for courses, perhaps. Auto wrote. 2042 Z 25.10.2014. 86.173.210.50 (talk) 20:43, 25 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Two different measurement schemes are clearly being used, given the enormous size of the difference. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jhall1 (talkcontribs) 25 October 2014 (UTC)
Yes, a completely different system is used, as AliasMarlowe explained. JH (talk page) 06:22, 2 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Can that stamp image be used?[edit]

The image tag for stamps specifically says that fair use can be claimed "to illustrate the stamp in question (as opposed to things appearing in the stamp's design)". That last bit sounds as though we can NOT use it for this article. 81.159.57.18 05:27, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Arkle-Stamp.jpg[edit]

Image:Arkle-Stamp.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
