Move[edit]

Why was this article moved without any discussion whatsoever?--Svetovid (talk) 10:34, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've moved it back to the original, because what I've found so far is that English seems to use more March laws than April laws, and also per Britannica for example. The Autobahn (talk) 18:31, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Hungarian official name is April laws so I can not accept your opinion.Nmate (talk) 18:37, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you want, add something like this: also called, and in Hungary/in Hungarian (usually) April laws, blah blah blah... (emphasis mine). Remember, this is an English encyclopedia, not a Hungarian one. This comment implies that you dismiss Britannica as a reliable source. The Autobahn (talk) 18:47, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that Slovakians call these laws "March laws", so this is a matter of great interest to you. And nobody dismisses Britannica as it also claims that "April laws" also has currency as a name. The two English names yield about the same number of hits on Google (searching for "april laws" hungary and "march laws" hungary). Therefore, as neither of the names is unquestionably established usage, we should stick with the one more rational, and that is "April laws" as the laws were enacted, therefore became "laws" in April. Also, as English-language sources originating from Hungary almost exclusively use "April laws", moving the article back would eliminate the discrepancy and make it easier for anyone to find (and understand) further reading on the topic. I plan to expand the article when I have the time; if no significant contrary opinion arrives, I'll revert to "April laws". (Zigomer trubahin (talk) 23:55, 5 June 2008 (UTC))[reply]

I've moved it back to April laws because The Autobahn is a MarkBA sockpuppet - this proven. He has been banned from the Eastern Europian topics so his opinion is invalid here. Nmate (talk) 11:47, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
