I am a student who has researched and edited this Wikipedia site for a behavioral ecology class. I expanded on the lead section and added quite a few new sections based off of research found through google scholar. Peer editing[edit]

The article addresses a good range of topics that gives a generic overview of the A. sociella. I enjoyed reading about the male/female interactions! I did make some minor grammar edits to standardize species names and help the article flow more smoothly. I also added some photos for visual variety as well as hyperlinks for clarity. Your overview is missing citations so it may be a good idea to put those in there. One critique is that I was slightly confused by the section title “Mechanisms of overcoming host.” This sounds like a defensive mechanism but is used to overcome the host? I’m not sure if I’m misunderstanding or if it is ambiguous, but it may be a good idea to clarify this. Also, looks like your reference #3 has a broken link and is showing an error message. One last thing is that it would be nice to expand the “Life cycle” section to elaborate on the pupae and adult stages if possible. Overall, great contribution! Once again, it seems like your overview is still missing citations, so I think it would be good to address that when you have time to do so. It would also be nice to see more information on other stages of the life cycle if possible. I feel that the "Description" section could be moved to a new "Adult" subsection under "Life history" to expand the section. I edited the "Egg" and "Larvae" headings under "Life history" to make them the correct heading style. Also, in the "Host" section under "Parasitic moths," I fixed improper capitalization of the common names of species that were listed while also enlarging the photo in the section because there are so few photos throughout the article. Great job on the article! I mainly fixed some grammatical errors and changed sentence structures. I believe this was stated earlier, but just make sure the url for the third reference is correct. Behavioral Ecology Class Peer Edits[edit]

Hi! I thought that this article was well done and thorough; it covered a broad range of topics. I made several edits to the article. I fixed the sentence structure and grammatical errors throughout the article, and I deleted extraneous phrases and restructured sentences to help the article flow better. In addition, I deleted the Life cycle sub-heading, as the Life history heading was sufficient and it appeared cluttered with both. I also changed the heading of "Habitat" to "Oviposition," as that section focused more on where the moths lay their eggs rather than on their overall habitat. I agree with the previous editor’s comment about the "Mechanisms of overcoming host section" as well. I was also confused by the defensive mechanism, so I think either clarifying within the section's text or renaming the section would be beneficial. Comments[edit]

This article is very well-written overall. I like how you have provided a lot of information in various categories, giving a very good general overview of the Moth. However, I think there is definitely some room to delve in and add some great detail in some of the sections. Such as adding more categories to parental care, such as host species learning and resistance. One change I made to facilitate this was to rename the Oviposition section Parental care, so that further categories can be added in the future. Also, I believe that you should talk about predation. As you have mentioned in the protective behavior section, there are some predators that are looking to make a meal of it.
