– WP:COMMONAME of all three is just "Antonio Hidalgo", always omitting maternal surname. All three are Spanish, and two are born in the year and same month within one day of each other; as per WP:NCSP, position in this case is the most definitive disambiguator. No WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Oppose as suggested; positioning is really a last resort given how it is flexible and changes, with players playing in multiple positions, and YOB is more useful. Therefore I think the following works better:

Antonio Hidalgo Rodríguez → Antonio Hidalgo (defender, born 1943)

Antonio Hidalgo De Carlos → Antonio Hidalgo (forward, born 1943)

Antonio Hidalgo (footballer, born 1979) → leave where it is
