Date of death[edit]

The beginning of the article gives the date of death as 15 June, but the body of the article says he died in hospital on 15 July. Which is correct? PerlMonk Athanasius (talk) 06:57, 3 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

An interesting question without a straightforward answer. This database places the competition between 12 and 14 July, which would fit with 15 July as claimed by the first source (SRP Journal). However, Sports-reference.com says 15 June. I'm not sure how to solve this, but I would lean towards 15 July. — Yerpo Eh? 12:13, 3 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

What kind of ring event?[edit]

The article says he died falling from the "rings". In 1928, would that have meant the flying rings or the steady rings? 184.70.186.150 (talk) 20:11, 3 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

An interesting thing to point out! I checked several sources, but they all just mention "rings". I'd say steady rings since the other style was apparently only practiced in the US colleges, according to the article. --Tone 19:23, 4 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
