Antoine LeClaire was the Justice of the Peace[edit]

For the town of Portage De Sioux, in St. Charles County, Mo. There is a Street named for him, LeClaire Street, running off of main in front of the Catholic Church. I cannot remember the years, however I was told of this by my Grandmother, Marie Louise LeClaire Anderson of Davenport IA, who was his great, great grand-niece. According to my somewhat faulty memory my grandmother told me he spent almost 2 years in Portage De Sioux as Justice of the Peace before heading to Arkansas. My family has some documentation that I will try to locate and scan in and upload. Also my family has a charcoal portrait of him which has been in our family for over 90 years that I know of. I will have some decent photos taken of it and upload them as well. If anyone has further information or is related to me through Antoine LeClaire, please send me a message through Wikipedia.

Proposed Rename[edit]

Not sure why the article misspells the subject's name. "Le Claire" was always spelled with a space in his signatures and all official publications relating to him. Even his namesake town is Le Claire, Iowa. I propose moving this article to Antonie Le Claire. Thoughts or objections? Edgar Vekilnik, Jr. (talk) 17:24, 28 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I do not object. Of course you want the old article to redirect, but you probably knew that. Also I am just one opinion, but your proposal makes sense to me. LaurentianShield (talk) 17:40, 28 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
