This article needs to be completely re-written. The Anti-Monopoly Party was primarily interested in the regulation of railroads; most of what appears here as their platform was not mentioned in the New York Times articles on the party at all. Last, Benjamin F. Shively may have had anti-monopolist tendencies, but he was elected on the Greenback ticket: see Michael J. Dubin, United States Congressional Elections 1788-1997, page 263, where the returns are given in the third column as Benjamin F. Shively (G) - 20,964 to John Reynolds (D) - 18,736.
